SAYING FAREWELL
After 12 incredible years of hospitality, warmth, and unforgettable moments, it is with mixed emotions that Donna and Chris announce the closure of Sunlover Retreat, their Bed & Breakfast.
A Journey of 12 Remarkable Years
Nestled on a hill in the heart of Tairua, the Coromandel Peninsula, Sunlover Retreat has not only been a haven for travellers but a passion and joy of its hosts, Donna and Chris Brooke.
The journey began over a decade ago when Donna and Chris embarked on the adventure of opening their own Bed & Breakfast. Their dream was to create a haven where guests could experience the beauty of New Zealand while enjoying the warmth of genuine Kiwi hospitality. Little did they know, Sunlover Retreat would become a home away from home for countless travellers.
Over the years, Sunlover Retreat has become a beacon of excellence in the B&B industry, earning numerous awards and consistently ranking among the top 3 Bed & Breakfasts in New Zealand. The accolades are a testament to Donna and Chris's unwavering commitment to providing an exceptional experience for their guests.
The heart and soul of Sunlover Retreat have always been the shared moments around the breakfast table. Donna and Chris created a space where guests from around the world could come together, share stories, and form connections that transcended geographical boundaries. The laughter, camaraderie, and cultural exchange made Sunlover Retreat not just a place to stay but a community of like-minded individuals.
Donna and Chris express their deep gratitude to the many guests who have graced Sunlover Retreat with their presence over the years. Each visitor has contributed to the unique tapestry of memories that make up the rich history of the B&B. From honeymooners and adventure seekers to business travelers and families on holiday, Sunlover Retreat has welcomed a diverse array of guests, each leaving an indelible mark on the hosts' hearts.
As Donna and Chris bid farewell to the daily routine of running Sunlover Retreat, they look forward to a new chapter in their lives. The decision to close the B&B comes with a desire to savor the simple pleasures of home, as they intend to transform their beloved retreat into a personal haven. It's time for Donna and Chris to enjoy their picturesque surroundings, bask in the memories they've created, and revel in the serenity of their own space.
While Sunlover Retreat will no longer open its doors to new guests, the legacy it leaves behind is one of warmth, excellence, and genuine Kiwi hospitality. The bonds formed, the laughter shared, and the memories created will endure, becoming a part of the rich tapestry of New Zealand's bed and breakfast history.
As Donna and Chris embark on this new journey, they carry with them the gratitude of a community of travellers who found a home in Sunlover Retreat. The doors may be closing, but the memories and the spirit of Sunlover Retreat will forever linger in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to experience and share in its magic.
Sunlover Retreat will finally close its doors on 31 May 2024.
